Opting for Character Design many references highlight the importance to use different techniques to get a strong personality for the characters created. one of which is to use the body pair system. that would help by contrasting and juxtaposing different attributes for each character and playing off of visual queues which will result in better and stronger visual for each character. I made early studies of form for both Morgana and Ali Baba using the body pair method. using line art and geometric forms.

And so I had a general idea of how I would like to have them look in comparison for each-other. At this point I was not absolutely sure of the final design. But it was important to get the general feel for the design direction.
From there I moved to first design my Lead Character Morgana and completely finish and render her.
My process to produce the concept piece for the character design was to search in the Middle Eastern Ethnicity and Arab culture and tradition in order to find the positive visual stereotypes.
As well as searching withing the Western culture and tradition for the positive Middle Eastern Ethnicity and Arab stereotypes.
